Movie deal for Dutch Elm comic

Jim Field Smith to direct his first film

Jim Field Smith from Perrier-nominated sketch group Dutch Elm Conservatoire is to direct his first feature film.

The comic will make the romantic comedy She's Out of My League for the DreamWorks studio.

Jay Baruchel, who recently appeared in Knocked Up, will play an average guy who starts dating a stunning woman, although his insecurities threaten to wreck the relationship

Filming is due to start early next year.

Field Smith has previously made short films include Where Have I Been All Your Life? and Goodbye to the Normals, as well as adverts for clients such as Burger King, Smirnoff and Virgin.
