'I've seen Jim Davidson 296 times...'
Teresa Young, from Cardiff, has seen his show 296 times in 28 years, and has just bought tickets to two more.
She first saw him in 1979 at the Double Diamond club in Caerphilly, when she was 18.
‘I wanted to see him earlier but it was an adult show,’ she told the South Wales Echo. ‘He was brilliant.
‘He’s the best comedian in the world. I also think he’s the best singer in the world. In fact, he’s the best all-round entertainer and the most loving, caring guy I have ever met.
‘I’ve spent thousands of pounds seeing him but he’s worth every penny.”
Teresa, who is single and a full-time carer for her elderly mum and handicapped sister, said the 'best night of her life' was when she went for a drink with the comic - and even remembers the exact date: July 16, 1993.
Unsurprisingly, Teresa defends Davidson's controversial material. 'A joke is a joke,’ she said. ‘There shouldn’t be all this political correctness.’
She added that when she was diagnosed with facial skin cancer in 2002, Davidson sent her a gold tie-pin.
