Hill plans soap opera spoof
Harry Hill is working on a new spoof soap opera.The stand-up – who regularly mocks soaps on TV Burp – says the new comedy is likely to be called Soapington Way, and will be set around a village duck pond.
‘I’m not Harry Hill in it,’ he told the Daily Telegraph. ‘My character’s Arthur Buttons.
‘And you’ll only see the hair of the character who’s my nan because she’s too short to peer over the bar.
‘And there’s a mad sex-change character who’s my sister, who I fall in love with.’
Hill, who was giving an interview to promote his new children’s book The Further Adventures of the Queen Mum, said soap operas were ‘crying out’ for mockery.
