Putting the Tim in Time Out

Time Out's new comedy editor

Time Out has appointed a new comedy editor to succeed Malcolm Hay – his stepson.

Tim Arthur has been Hay’s deputy on the London listings magazine for the past eight years, and was on the panel of this year’s if.comedy awards in Edinburgh.

He has been a playwright, theatre director and comedy impro performer, and for the last two years has run the Cardboard Citizens Theatre Company, Britain’s only professional theatre company for homeless people.

Arthur - the son of Hay’s wife Toni Arthur-Hay, the former PlaySchool presenter turned comedy director – officially takes on his new role on October 1.

Hay is leaving the magazine after more than 20 years to work on new writing projects with his wife.
