Steve's in the Square

EastEnders role for Amos

Stephen K Amos has landed a small role in EastEnders.

The stand-up will play a doctor in two episodes of the BBC soap, to be broadcast over the next fortnight.

He filmed four scenes alongside Patrick Trueman, played by Rudolph Walker.

But Amos – who’s currently appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe – caused some awkwardness by mentioning that Walker appeared in the Seventies sitcom Love Thy Neighbour, now considered racist.

He told the actor: ‘Because of you, I was called a nig-nog at school.’
