Stand-ups challenged in new ITV1series

Comics including Frank Skinner, Dara O'Briain and Patrick Kielty are to perform gigs in unfamiliar surroundings for a new ITV1 series.

Tough Gig will see the performers thrown into a world they know nothing about for a week, then perform a stand-up gig to the people they’ve met with material based exclusively on their experiences.

The series starts at 10pm on June 12 with Skinner learning mediation at a 'personal growth' centre in Dorset.

Ina other weeks, Russell Howard joins a group of Irish ‘extreme surfers’ in County Clare, while Kielty will hang out with British rappers and O’Briain with fantasy role players.

To complete the series, EastEnders and Extras star Shaun Williamson joins the fashionistas at Paris Fashion Week, while The Fast Show’s Arabella Weir joins clairvoyants and ghostbusters.

The half-hour series has been made by Tinderbox Television, with producers including Avalon’s Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner.
