A million witnesses

Comedy Store punch is an internet hit

The video of Jim Jeffries being attacked at the Manchester Comedy Store has been seen more than a million times.

Footage of the attack on the uncompromising Australian comic just over a week ago was captured on the venue’s camera and distributed across YouTube and other file-sharing sites.

One site, break.com, has racked up almost 900,000 views alone.

Jeffries’ manager, Brett Vincent, said he ‘couldn’t believe’ the number of people who had seen the incident – and estimates the total figure over all the websites carrying it could easily exceed two million.

A man was arrested following the incident on April 14, which is thought to have started when an audience member took offence at a heckle put-down aimed at someone else. Jeffries was left with a black eye following the attack.
