Shrinks reunited

Frasier stars' reunion plans

The cast of Frasier could reunite - but on stage rather than on TV.

David Hyde Pierce, who played Niles, said he had met other stars of the show including Kelsey Grammer and John Mahoney to discuss a reunion.

‘Absolutely, we talked about it,’ he said. ‘We got together and had breakfast and all we talked about is what plays we might do together.’

Mahoney has returned to Broadway after a 20-year absence to appear in Prelude to a Kiss; Grammer recently starred in a concert version of My Fair Lady; while Pierce has appeared in Spamalot and appears in a new musical Curtains.

Pierce, 47, said any reunion would more likely be a play than a musical.

‘We were only talking about plays because we are all getting on in years and there is only so much dancing you can do.’

Frasier ended in 2005 after a successful 12-year run.
