Mecca me laugh...
The Official Muslim Comedy Tour was set up to promote Islamic culture and address misconceptions, in the wake of the 9/11 attacks on America.
Now a string of dates in the UK has been announced, starting with the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London, on April 7 and 8.
Further shows will take place in Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Bradford – with more venues to be added in the coming months.
Preacher Moss, one of the Muslim comics in the line-up, saysL ‘Through humour we are able to play with stereotypes and demonstrate that laughter is universal."
‘Our goal for this tour is simple, t is to break down racial and cultural stereotypes while educating both Muslims and non-Muslims about tolerance and acceptance through the vehicle of comedy."
‘Comedy comes from many different places and has many different messages. The messages we are sending out with the Muslim Comedy Tour is that laughter breaks all barriers no matter what peoples' beliefs or backgrounds are.’
Below is a clip of Preacher Moss on the tour.
