A date with Frank

Skinner tickets go on sale

Tickets have gone on sale for some of Frank Skinner’s first stand-up dates in a decade.

The comic is going back on the road this September, saying that he hopes to be able to prove he can still cut it as a stand-up after ten years on TV.

He has said: ‘Anyone can be a chat show host. You could take some Big Brother contestant, put them in the chair and they’d be okay. You wouldn’t put them on a 72-date tour though. That’s a real skill.’

So far at least 18 of the venues he’ll be playing have put tickets on sale, including Leeds, Dublin, Salford, Aberdeen and Watford.

Skinner is currently making unannounced appearances at various small comedy clubs to try out material. A preview show at Nowrich Arts Centre in May sold out quickly.

His last stand-up tour was in 1997, when he played more than 100 dates, including one at Battersea Power Station.
