Eddie's ready to return

Murphy mulls stand-up comeback

Eddie Murphy could return to stand-up - even though he has previously vowed never to go back to the stage.

The comic hasn’t performed stand-up since becoming a movie star, even though his Eighties shows Delirious and Raw became hit films.

But in a new interview, Murphy, 45, said: ‘I've threatened doing stand-up every two or three years. I used to say no, but I can't say I wouldn't do it again now because so much has happened since the last time I did.

‘I'm curious to see what it would be like if I got up on the stage, what would come out.

‘So much has changed professionally and personally, and the world has changed. I don't rule it out.’

The comic was speaking to promote his new movie Dreamgirls, which won him a Golden Globe for best supporting actor earlier this week.
