League comeback

...but Gents won't be in Royston Vasey

The League Of Gentlemen will reunite for a new show next year – but it’s unlikely to be set around Royston Vasey.

The team have spent the 12 months since touring with their adult pantomime working on solo projects from Doctor Who to Radio 4 comedy Nebulous.

However Jeremy Dyson, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have always said they will work together again – and now plans are afoot for the next series.

Pemberton told Teletext: ‘We took this year off deliberately to do whatever came up, but next year we are definitely going to sit down and try to get a new project off the ground.’

‘We've decided to have an embargo on speaking about what the project will be, but in terms of going back and doing the Royston Vasey thing, we'll probably give that a rest.

‘Beyond that, we just don't know.’

And on his blog, he warned fans not to expect something too soon, writing: ‘Of course it will take a while to get something off the ground that we're all happy with.’

Pemberton will next star opposite Johnny Vegas in the ITV1 sitcom Benidorm, due to air in February. It's completely different [from League of Gentlemen],’ he said. ‘No prosthetics, I wish there was. Me in swimming trunks.’

Also, on his blog, Pemberton revealed that he will be in the cast of the Rocky Horror Show, where he play sthe Narrator, when it goes to the West End’s Comedy Theatre in January. Click here to buy tickets.
