Rape police to quiz Brand
Claims of an Edinburgh party assault
Russell Brand is to be quizzed by police after a 20-year-old woman claimed she was raped at the flat where he was staying.
The alleged assault is said to have taken place during a busy party over the last weekend at the Edinburgh fringe.
Everyone at the bash will now be questioned by police, who said: ‘We are investigating a report of sexual assault. A number of people have still to be traced and interviewed, and as such we cannot comment further.'
Another source told the Daily Mirror: 'She said she remembers having a drink but nothing after that. She woke next morning and felt very uncomfortable, as if she had had sex.'
Brand, 31, is now said to be on holiday in Morocco before embarking on a UK tour later this month.
He cancelled two of his seven Assembly Rooms gigs at the Fringe after being struck down with laryngitis.
