Big Mouth silenced

Russell Brand cancels gigs

Russell Brand has cancelled some of his shows at the Edinburgh Fringe due to severe laryngitis.

Doctors have told the Big Brother’s Big Mouth comedian not to perform his gigs at the Assembly Rooms tonight and tomorrow.

And his late-night gig at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre tonight has been postponed until Sunday. Anyone who cannot attend the new date can return tickets at the original point of sale by 6pm Saturday.

The rearranginh of dates means Brand has had to pull out of his planned appearance at the Reading Festival this weekend.

Fans who were due to attend the Assembly Room shows will all receive an automatic refund on to their credit cards, regardless of where they purchased their tickets.

A spokesman said: ‘Russell apologies for any inconvenience this might cause his fans.’

Brand is not the first comedian to cancel Fringe shows because of poor health. John Shuttleworth creator Graham Fellows abandoned his run introducing new character Dave Tordoff midway through the festival because of a mysterious illness.
