Late and live

BBC4's spoof news show returns

BBC Four has ordered another series of its tropical comedy show The Late Edition – but this time it will go out live.

The first three seasons of the spoof news programme, fronted by Marcus Brigstocke, have been recorded the day before transmission.

But the new 13-part series, which also features interviews with politicians and pundits alongside the comedy sketches, will come direct from BBC Television Centre in West London when it starts on September 28

Producer Bill Dare, who has previously worked on Spitting Image and Dead Ringers, joked: ‘Now that we're going live, I'll be able to cut down on the All-Bran.'

The programme also features regulars Andre Vincent and Steve Furst as well as a series of stand-up guests.
