The American version of The Office has scooped two more awards – one for best comedy and another for star Steve Carell.
The actor won the award for individual achievement in comedy in the TV Critics Association Awards handed out in Pasadena, California, yesterday.
Fellow NBC comedy My Name Is Earl was named best new programme, while Hugh Laurie won best individual achievement in a drama for his role in House.
The Office was the first NBC sitcom to win the comedy award in a decade – the last being Frasier in 1996.
Yesterday the network also announced another series of its stand-up reality show Last Comic Standing, which attracts an average 8.2 million viewers each week.
