Stiller directs wife's sitcom

Ben Stiller is working on a US sitcom with his wife, Christine Taylor.

The comic will appear in the show – as Taylor’s husband - as well as direct it and act as executive producer.

The CBS network has ordered a pilot of the comedy, which has not yet been given a title, and it should go into production this summer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will play on the differences between the new life of an actress married to a big-time Hollywood star and that of her relatives in her smalltown home.

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said: ‘She is a small-town girl who has found her way into Hollywood. There are times when she is befuddled by her status being an actress married to a big movie star.’

Taylor and Stiller, who have two children from their six-year marriage, have worked together on Zoolander and Dodgeball. Taylor is best known for her role as Marcia Brady in the Brady Bunch Movie, and recently appeared in Arrested Development as Michael Bluth’s great love, Sally Sitwell.
