Blunderful news...
Peep Show actor David Mitchell is to star in the first sketch show ever to be commissioned by digital channel E4.
Blunder, which is due to air in the autumn, features an ensemble cast that also includes established live performers Nina Conti, Simon Farnaby and Tom Meeten.
The line-up is completed by Rhys Thomas, who is the voice of Radio 4’s controversial spoof talk show host Gary Bellamy, and Tom Way, who had a small role in Extras.
The cast will also write the six-part series, which will air on Channel 4 after making its debut on E4.
A Channel 4 spokesman said: ‘The series features a colourful array of cartoonish characters and oddballs.’
Independent production house Channel X will make the series, which will be produced by Jemma Rodgers, who was also responsible for The League of Gentleman, and directed by Shooting Stars’ Richard Valentine.
Mitchell is also working on a BBC Two sketch show with his double-act partner Robert Webb. The duo are also touring the UK in the autumn. Click here for the dates announced so far.
