Sony award nominations out

Chris Addison, Lee Mack and the Flight Of The Conchords are all up for the most prestigious prize for radio comedy.

They have all been shortlisted for a Sony Award for their work last year, alongside Mitchell and Webb and Radio 1’s oneclick/comedy, the late-night showcase of new comedy talent. The episode submitted was an Andrew Lawrence special

Mitchell and Webb, stars of Channel 4’s Peep Show, were nominated for their Radio 4 show That Mitchell & Webb Sound, which has now been commissioned for a TV pilot.

Addison was shortlisted for his Radio 4 programme The Ape That Got Lucky, based on his Edinburgh Festival show; while  the Conchords and Lee Mack made the grade for their Radio 2 shows.

Comic Justin Moorhouse was also nominated for the interactive award for his show on Key 103 in Manchester. Others shortlisted in this category include Radio 1's Scott Mills.

The winner will be announced on May 8 at a ceremony in London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
