Gervais's podcasts become a book
Ricky Gervais’s record-breaking podcast is to be turned into a book, The World According to Karl Pilkington.
The bizarre exchanges between Gervais, his co-writer Stephen Merchant and producer Karl Pilkington will be collected into a £10 hardback to be released in September.
Pilkington will also provide additional musings for the title, and will illustrate it with his own drawings. Artwork sent in by fans will also be included.
The blurb from publisher Fourth Estate says: ‘Pilkington's is a brilliant mind, locked inside a perfectly round head, and uncluttered by the unhelpful constraints of logic or common sense.’
Meanwhile, Gervais has released his first video podcast on iTunes. The two-and-a-half minute clip sees the comic quiz Pilkington on a typically odd ‘what if’ scenario.
Gervais’s weekly 95p audio podcasts currently fill five of the top ten chart positions on iTunes album charts (each is considered an album in its own right, despite the low price), including No 1.
