World Cup podcasts for Baddiel & Skinner

Frank Skinner and David Baddiel are to record a series of free World Cup podcasts for The Times.

The duo, who are no longer making their Fantasy Football shows for ITV, will instead spend the tournament travelling between games with fans.

They will record ten podcasts for TimesOnline throughout the World Cup, which runs from June 9 to July 9, and will also post on the website from Germany.

Keith Blackmore, executive editor of The Times, said: ‘Baddiel and Skinner are an essential part of the World Cup. There are no better commentators to bring the excitement of the tournament to life. ’

Baddiel said: “The podcast is a great medium for me and Frank: it's new – and doesn't require us to look good. From that point of view, the only World Cup double-act more suited to it would be Ronaldinho and Peter Crouch.’

Skinner added: ‘I'm really looking forward to it; especially the “We-just-won-the-World-Cup” special.’

The Times is making the podcasts with the production arm of Avalon, the company that manages Baddiel and Skinner.
