Comic quizzed over net porn

Chris Langham has been arrested during an inquiry into the downloading of child pornography.

Langham, a father of five, was released on bail after being questioned last month.

Kent Police have told the BBC the comedian, who was named best TV comedy actor at Wednesday’s British Comedy Awards was held as part of an ongoing inquiry into internet-related crime.

In a statement issued through his lawyer to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Langham said: ‘I have not been charged with any offence and have made no admission to criminal acts.

‘I ask that you respect the privacy of my family for whom this event has been extremely traumatic.’

People Like Us star Langham, 56, won his award this week for his roles in The Thick of It and Help.

Inspector Mark Holt, of Kent Police, said: "A 56-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday  November 29, at an address in Cranbrook, west Kent, in connection with an ongoing investigation into internet-related crime.  He was spoken to. He has been released on bail.’
