Boobies prized

Fallen Madonna portrait goes on show

The Fallen Madonna With The Big Boobies – that staple joke of Allo Allo - is finally going on public display.

Although the portrait, by fictional artist Van Clomp, provided a long-running joke in the French Resistance sitcom, a genuine copy was made for Lord Bath of Longleat, who was a fan.

The picture went into storage after his death in 1992, but will now go on show at his stately home in Wiltshire.

Longleat spokeswoman Flo Wallace told The Sun: “’The BBC organised a copy for the former Lord Bath, Lord Henry, as a birthday gift and he loved it, even though it was completely worthless.

‘We carried out research and realised that although the painting was very famous it had hardly even been seen’

’Allo ’Allo ran for 85 episodes, from 1984 to 1992.
