Coogan creates new character
Steve Coogan has created a new comedy character ready to hit screens next year.
He has already recorded a pilot show featuring the ex-roadie turned pest control officer called Tom Saxondale.
Coogan told OK! magazine’s website that the new characer shared some similarities with Alan Patridge.
‘He is a bit like Alan, only funnier,’ he said. ‘The joke was always at the expense of Alan, whereas Tom is genuinely witty while still being a dick.’
Coogan, who has just finished filming Tristram Shandy: A Cock And Bull Story, hopes to start work on a series through his production company Baby Cow early in the new year.
