Old tunnel mouth
A statue of Billy Connolly could greet motorists entering Glasgow's Clyde Tunnel if new plans come to fruition.
Campaigners are hoping to improve the Sixties tunnel, and have suggested four possibilities for the Partick end of the tunnel.
The Big Yin is one of four statues being proposed. The others are an abstract figure representing the river; a tunnel miner; and one in honour of the role 'real women' played in Glasgow's history.
The group is taking a vote on its website, and will use the results to lobby Glasgow City Council to spruce up the tunnel's 'grim' look.
Meanwhile, the organisation will be lighting up the south end of the structure in a different colour over each of the next seven days. and inviting motorists to vote for their favourite.
