The best of Dave Allen

Win official anthologies of his work

Dave Allen’s death this year prompted a huge outpouring of tributes, more heartfelt than the platitudes often issued when an entertainer dies.

‘He was an original, he carved his own path,’ said Eddie Izzard. ‘He was our greatest storyteller,’ said Jack Dee.

Now some of Allen’s best routines and tales have been gathered together in an official anthology celebrating his work.

Compiled by Graham McCann – whose books on comedy include the definitive biography of Morecambe And Wise – The Essential Dave Allen was published by Hodder & Stoughton last week.

The hardback edition is priced £16.99, but we have four copies to give away.

To stand a chance of winning, just answer the question below by November 28, when the winners will be chosen from all correct answers received.

Good luck!
