Boosh off
The Mighty Boosh are about to announce a major British tour.
Noel Fielding and Julian Barrett will play 42 dates across the UK, starting in February, on the back of their BBC Three comedy’s cult success.
The blurb for the show is typically surreal: ‘Witness Mr. Susan the cloth beast as he brandishes his miraculous mirror balls for your enjoyment. Recoil in fear at the evil cockney hitch hiker. Marvel at the uncanny skills of Naboo the Enigma as he hypnotizes you into buying merchandise after the show. Dance against your will as Old Gregg, the sea transsexual, lures you with his pout of doom.’
This will be the duo’s first live tour since their TV breakthrough, although their origins are on stage.
They won the Perrier best newcomer award at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe, returning the following year with the Perrier-nominated Arctic Boosh, and in 2000 with Autoboosh
The tour starts in York on February 1 and ends in Dartford on March 26. Click here for dates.
Tickets are not yet on sale, but should be available once the tour is officially announced.Published: 9 Nov 2005
