Chappelle to hit UK

...as will the Hollow Men in TV deal

Shows from American comic Dave Chappelle and British sketch group The Hollow Men have been snapped up by cable channel FX.

The station, which already screens Family Guy and King Of The Hill, is boosting its comedy output with the new shows bought in from Comedy Central.

Chappelle’s Show is the US cable network’s second-highest rating show behind South Park.

But earlier this year, the stand-up, who had a $50million contact with the station, hit the headlines for walking out of production of the third season without giving a reason.

His show will make its British premiere in FX’s Thursday night comedy slot from January next year. To see clips, visit the Comedy Central website

The Hollow Men are a team of four Cambridge graduates who fulfilled many a comedian’s dream when they were spotted at the Edinburgh Fringe and invited to make their own American TV show.

However, the quartet of David Armand, Nick Tanner, Rupert Russell and Sam Spedding, got at best mixed reviews when the show aired earlier this year.

The six-episode series has not yet been scheduled on FX, but will be broadcast next year.

Clips from the show can also be seen at the Comedy Central website
