Awards keep coming

The Office scoops another accolade

It may have been over for 18 months, but The Office has picked up another award in the States.

The Christmas specials that concluded the show was honoured for  ‘achievement in movies, miniseries and specials’ by  America’s Television Critics Association

The group also named Desperate Housewives as programme of the year while Arrested Development – which has struggled to turn journalists’ acclaim into viewers - won its second consecutive award for comedy from the association

In the individual categories, Hugh Laurie won the drama award for his straight acting role in medical mystery series House, while Jon Stewart of The Daily Show won in the comedy category.

And comedian Bob Newhart received the award for career achievement,

The Television Critics Association, founded in 1978, includes more than 200 journalists from the United States and Canada.
