Ali snaps
Ali G star Sacha Baron Cohen has had a run-in with a newspaper photographer in New York.
The New York Daily News claims the comic tried to throttle their snapper
Richard Corkey as he tried to take a picture of his with finacee Isla Fisher.
Cohen, who has made a career out of embarrasing other people on camera, reportedly told the photographer not to take his picture without asking.
'It was shocking,' said Corkery. 'You just don't expect that someone would grab your throat.'
The paper said 34-year-old Cohen tried to 'choke Corkery with a one-handed martial arts-style hold.'
The incident happened at a party near Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal to mark the release of the comedy movie Wedding Crashers, in which Fisher has a part.
New York Times reporter Paula Schwartz, who witnessed it, said: ‘All of a sudden, Ali G came racing up and his hand went up on Dick's throat. It was scary to me.'
However, Cohen's spokesman Matt LaBove told the Daily News: ‘He did not put a hand on Dick. He put his hand in front of the camera but did not touch him.’
