Sith happens
The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse has been trounced by the final Star Wars film in its first week at the box office.
But it was also outperformed by the ultra-violent Sin City, and even the Vin Diesel family comedy The Pacifier.
Apocalypse came fourth in the British box office chart in its first week of release, grossing £796,000 over the 282 screens it played on.
Even though takings for The Revenge Of The Sith slumped nearly 60 per cent in its third week of release, box office receipts were still a healthy £4.5million.
New release Sin City took £3.6million and The Pacifier £1million, according to figures published in film industry bible Variety.Published: 11 Jun 2005
