Sean stars in Shakespeare play

Sean Hughes is to make his debut as a Shakespearean stage actor.

The comic is to appear as Touchstone, a jester, in a new West End production of As You Like It.

League of Gentlemen star  Reece Shearsmith also stars as Jaques in the play, which opens at the  Wyndham’s Theatre on June 21.

Both Hughes and Shearsmith have  previously appeared in Art in the West End, and Hughes's other actingcredits include starring in the movie version of Spike Milligan's Puckoon.

The new version of As You Like it moves the setting from the French woodlands to the Forties, with a musical accompaniment in the style of Edith Piaf.
