Lodge meeting...
A blue plaque is to be erected to comedy character actor David Lodge, who died 18 months ago.
He appeared in a string of British comedy films, many alongside Peter Sellers and Norman Wisdom, as well as Spike Milligan’s Q series and once attributed his “meaty” comedy roles to "this ugly mug of mine ".
Lodge – not to be confused with the writer of the same name – appeared in more than 100 films, including Casino Royale, I'm All Right Jack, Return Of The Pink Panther, Milligan’s Running Jumping & Standing Still Film and six Carry On movies.
The Heritage Foundation is honouring him with a plaque at the home where he lived in Sydney Road, Richmond, Surrey, until his death in October 2003 at the age of 82.
The unveiling, hosted by the foundation’s president Rick Wakeman, takes place on April 10, followed by a celebratory lunchPublished: 22 Mar 2005
