Relief's not comic
Peter Kay has slammed Comic Relief for not being funny enough.
Despite helping raise thousands of pounds by making a video for the re-released Tony Christie single Is This The Way To Amarallo, the comedian said he’s no fan of the fundraiser.
He told the Daily Star: “I think it should just be called ‘Relief’ because there’s nothing comic about it.”
And he blamed the studio audience for the night, which raised £37 million, being such a disappointment.
“The audience is like a Top Of The Pops audience and they just stand there. They are not very responsive.
“So if you go in live, you tend to die. I’d rather film it and send it in.”
