Little Britain snubs Blair
Little Britain has spurned Tony Blair’s request to appear on the show.
The Prime Minister asked to make a cameo appearance in one of the star-studded sketches Matt Lucas and David Walliams made for Comic Relief.
He wanted to play the part of the fiction PM, usually played by Anthony Head, who is lusted over by his camp, jealous aide Sebastian.
But, according to Heat magazine, the duo played him down because they thought it was a blatant piece of electioneering.
An insider told the magazine: "It wasn't felt to be appropriate but we are still open to suggestions."
A Downing Street spokesman said: “There were a number of ideas under discussion with Comic Relief. This idea was discussed some time ago. He might still do something with Comic Relief, it's still under discussion
Walliams and Lucas are at least unbiased in their disdain for politicians. At last year’s GQ magazine men of the year awards they booed Conservative leader Michael Howard.
