Loaded with awards
Little Britain’s Matt Lucas and David Walliams have won two comedy awards from the readers of Loaded magazine.
The duo won funniest double act and best comedy show in the lads’ mag’s Lafta awards.
Jimmy Carr, pictured, was named best stand-up, ahead of Ross Noble, Peter Kay and Ricky Gervais.
Lucy Davis of The Office was named funniest women, although organisers didn’t come up with any other nominees, while Johnny Vegas was named funniest man.
There were also awards with only the most tenuous link to comedy: Big Brother’s Victor won funniest reality TV person, and Jodie Marsh was named burk of the year.
More than 20,000 people voted for the awards.
Loaded editor Martin Daubney said: “All of our winners have had an amazing year – the second series of Little Britain has been a side splitting success, Chris Moyles has proved himself to be the saviour of Radio 1 whilst Lucy Davis has shown there is definitely life out of The Office – something I am a strong believer in.
“The Laftas are a big thanks for keeping us all laughing in 2004 – and a great excuse for a piss-up.”
