Go, Ricky
Ricky Gervais has scooped yet another award from America.
More than 200 US critics have awarded him the prize for best individual achievement in comedy for his work with The Office.
And Arrested Development walked away with the Television Critics’ Association awards for best new programme and best comedy.
Bizarrely, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show was named best news and information programme – even though it’s a spoof.
Presenter Jon Stewart said in his acceptance speech: "You do know we’re fake, right?
“There must be kind of mistake. If only we had some kind of, I don't know, fact-checking apparatus, we could investigate this error. But we don't, because we're fake!"
"Next year we're going for children’s programming. Grover, we're gonna kick your ass!"
Gervais’s catalogue of awards include winning two Golden Globes for The Office, even though it has not been a mainstream success in the States.
