Morris back on TV

C4 commissions new comedy

Chris Morris could be back on TV before the end of the year after Channel 4 gave his new series the green light.

The show will come three years after the satirist's Brass Eye paedophilia special provoked a storm of protest.

The new comedy is believed to feature Nathan Barley, a loathsome, shallow new media type, from the now-mothballed satirical website TVGoHome.

Collaborator Charlie Brooker, who co-created TVGoHome, told MediaGuardian: "We're working on a series that I think will be on later in the year, or possibly early next year."

He gave few hints to the content of the show, saying only: "It's got narrative elements. I think it's fairly pointless to say any more because everything could change. But it's probably not going to be quite what people would expect."

A pilot for the show was shot last summer under tight secrecy.
