Ricky goes to town
Ricky Gervais has announced a run of London dates as part of his new Politics tour.
The Office star will be at the Bloomsbury Theatre from May 24 to 29.
He used the same venue to film his last DVD, Animals, because, he claimed, it was the nearest theatre to his home and he was too lazy to tour.
However, this time he is visiting the rest of the country, with a string of dates starting in Newcastle on April 4.
Gervais said: "Most comedians slog around the country for15 years playing to students, drunks and even women, in grotty venues, with the vague hope that someone will give them their own TV show. I'm doing it the other way round.
" In my show I will be doing my usual brand of brilliant, irreverent yet observational comedy, covering such universal subjects as meeting Jack Nicholson, driving around in limos and not putting my hand in my pocket once."
Tickets for the Bloomsbury shows have just gone on sale, priced £25.
