Hollywood break for Full Monty writer

The Full Monty creator Simon Beaufoy has been signed up to write his first major Hollywood movie.

Revolution Studios have struck a deal with the British writer to produce a script entitled In The Pink for Tim Allen.

Like Beaufoy's biggest hit, the plot revolves around a man embarking on an alternative career after losing his job. But instead of becoming a male stripper, Allen's corporate executive becomes a door-to-door cosmetics salesman, Variety reports.

Since the runaway success of The Full Monty in 1997, Beaufoy has been involved in a number of minor films, including This Is Not A Love Song, which was distributed on the intenet last month, and the hairdressing comedy Blow Dry.
