Avon calling for Jongleurs

Club to launch Bristol venue

Jongleurs has announced that it will be opening its Bristol venue on November 28.

The £2.4 million venue in Baldwin Street also includes a café-bar, the Stone House, and will be the 17th Jongleurs in the UK.

Brand manager Jon Fish said: "Jongleurs has been hugely successful and we are sure there will be a real demand in Bristol.

"It's a flourishing, happening city and we are bringing something very different to the entertainment scene."

The first Jongleurs Comedy Club was opened in Battersea in 1983 by former drama teacher Maria Kempinska, who is still responsible for booking all the acts.

But the chain is now owned by Regent Inns, which also owns the Australian-themed Walkabout bars and is trying to establish the Stone House, of which this will be the third, as a new nationwide chain.
