Search for UK's comedy capital

Chortle has joined forces with men's magazine Loaded to find Britain's funniest towns.

We're looking for nominations from visitors to the site - and reasons why your home town should make the shortlist.

Perhaps it's been the birthplace of some famous comics, the setting for a sitcom or the location for a classic comedy film. Perhaps it's full of thriving comedy clubs, or just that that the people there are inherently funny.

The submissions will be judged by a panel of experts, and the winning town will be presented with a plaque. The more reasons you can give, the more chances you'll have of making the list.

One reader who manages to get their town into the top ten, will be chosen at random and receive a bundle of comedy goodies, including an invitation to the first Loaded Comedy Awards ­ the Laftas.

These star-studded awards will be held on October 8 at a swish central London venue. Award categories include funniest man and woman of the year as well as funniest TV moment and comedy soap couple.

Closing date for the survey is September 8, so get voting.
