Dave's on board
Dave Gorman has been elected to the board that runs the Edinburgh Fringe.
The comic says he owes much of his success to the festival, and wants to help shape its future.
Gorman said: "It's only really the platform provided by this festival that has allowed me to reach a far broader audience".
He added that thought he could "bring a unique but informed perspective to the board" based on his years as an audience member, youth theatre performer, stand-up comic and documentary comedian.
His new role also helps redress the balance of the board, which is still weighted against performers.
Writing on Chortle's forums, Gorman said "I stood because I love the Fringe and I believe performers were under-represented on the board."
His appointment was announced at the Fringe Annual General Meeting, which also discussed problems of overcrowding on the Royal Mile, the lack of accommodation in the city centre and performance costs.
