Skinner fronts museum ads for nothing

Frank Skinnner is to appear in a series of newspaper ads for the National Football Museum - but he won't be paid a penny.

The football fan will front a marketing campaign for the Preston museum that will run in the north-west throughout the summer.

In a series of advertisements, Skinner will reveal stories about eccentric fans and key moments in the game's history.

Curator Mark Bushell, told the website leisureopportunities.co.uk: "I took Frank on a tour of the museum and he loved it. We're sure that with his backing the campaign will be a success."

The campaign's account director Nick Flewitt said: "Frank Skinner was the natural choice because of Fantasy Football League and the Three Lions song - and he gave his backing for free."
