Low-key gig for video release

Johnny Vegas is to play a 'secret' gig at the Edinburgh festival.

The show, at The Stand comedy club, will be filmed for a full-length video Vegas is making about the Fringe.

Tickets for the gig- on August 14 - will go on sale for £10 at 11am on Wednesday, but fans will have to queue at the venue to buy them as phone bookings won't be taken.

Vegas will also play a gig at The Stand's Glasgow venue on August 13.

He could have easily filled one of the city's larger venues, but chose the intimate club because it gave him his first break in Scotland, according to club director Tommy Sheppard.

He said: "These shows really will be ones of the connoisseur. Every time Johnny has played the club is has been an unique comedy experience, providing us with many of the highlights of our eight years of programming."

The video will be released in autumn, in time for the Christmas market.
