200 comics on record-breaking bill

Up to 200 comics are to make a record-breaking bid to get the most number of stand-ups on one bill.

Each act will perform just one minute of material at the attempt, to be held at Manchester's Dancehouse theatre on Friday October 31.

A similar gig two years ago attracted 102 performers - and raised £1,500 for charity.

This year's event, called StandUp200, is in aid of Salford's Francis House Children's Hospice.

The event is being organised by comics Jason Cooke, Des Sharples, Tony Kinsella and Joey Longthorn, who are appealing for more acts to take part. Email standup200@hotmail.com for details. A coach is being organised for London-based comics - email thecomedycoach@hotmail.com for details of that.
