The sinking shrink

C4 relegates Frasier to graveyard slots

Channel 4 is to bury the remaining episodes of Frasier in their schedules because executives think it's not funny any more.

The show has already been switched from Friday to Monday nights, and last week's episodes languished in a 11.15pm slot.

A Channel 4 source told Teletext: "There is the general view that it is not the show it once was."

Critics believe the show lost its comic tension after Daphne married Niles Crane.

The source added that the show had "performed OK" this year, but confirmed that the next - and final - series will go out in a similar slot to the one it has now.

At its peak, the show pulled in 5 million viewers.
