Ben pens Rod Stewart musical

Ben Elton is to write a West End musical based on the work of Rod Stewart.

The new show is a follow-up to his much-derided - but hugely successful - Queen musical We Will Rock You.

Songs such as Sailing, Maggie May and Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? Will feature in the show, Tonight's The Night.

It is due to open at the Victoria Palace Theatre in November.

Stewart, 58, said the musical - which Elton will also direct - was "astounding".
