Opera add 24 new dates

Jerry Springer - The Opera has added another 24 shows to its National Theatre run.

The show, which has attracted rave reviews and sold-out audiences, will now continue until September 30.

Tickets for the new dates - priced from £14 to £28 - go on sale from tomorrow (May 26). Click here to buy.

The opera, co-written by Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas, is expected to eventually hit the West End, and possibly even Broadway.

Thomas said of Springer's trash TV show: "It's got tragedy. It's got violence. There are people screaming at each other and you can't understand what they're saying. It's perfect for opera."
