Wild West returns
BBC1 has ordered a new series of Dawn French's comedy Wild West.
Six new episodes have been commissioned from writer Simon Nye, even though the last series was slated by critics.
The first show, aired in October last year, was watched by more than 6.5million viewers, though ratings settled down at around the five million mark.
It starred French and Catherine Tate as a lesbian couple living in a remote Cornish village.
The recommission was announced at the Montreux TV festival, where the BBC also revealed that Alan Davies will star in three new Jonathan Creek mysteries.
The TV version of Noel Fielding and Julain Barratt's surreal The Boosh was also confirmed at the festival.
